Personality

a hot, goth medic in the midst of a neon hellscape. opal is somewhat serious, logical, and analytic, but can be a little stubborn at the best of times. they have a tendency to be overly self-reliant, and find it difficult to accept help from others. as a friend, they are incredibly loyal, and will bend over backwards for you.

History

  BIOGRAPHY    under the cover of everkeep, in a world encased in everlasting lightning, opalite nozawa was born to a lawyer and government official, both with a crippling secret-- a gambling addiction, one that couldn't be satiated in slot machines or at the craps table. they betted on bigger things: arcadion fights. and, after somehow wracking up a debt in the millions column, began to borrow under opal's name to keep their addiction alive.they had no idea, until the collectors started hounding them for loans taken out when they were nine.solution 9 is a city full of opportunity, if you ask most anyone. the government can help you find a job if needed. but opal? opal was a unique case. no job could pay as much as they needed. they worked as a medic in the arcadion, the house of the selfsame bloodsport that sent their parents to backroom betting tables and swimming with sharks. it felt like they would have to start paying the debt back in souls. that was, until the arcadion president came along, with a deal...opal's parents' debts would be forgiven, no strings attached. their own, however? those would need to be paid back-- in full, to the president. at the very least, they wouldn't need to sell off their souls to fulfill it. that, and they were offered perhaps the most lucrative job for the average citizen of solution 9: to be an arcadion fighter. to utilize the feral soul of a beast in the ring, and fight their way to freedom.who would they be if they didn't accept this help? since then, opal has fought their way up the ranks, landing themselves in the heavyweight division as "winged night", utilizing the feral soul of a giant moth. their fighting style is based in illusion, using hallucinogenic scales to confuse their opponents and secure their victory. they delight in toying with their prey, and though you might be in the moth's gaze, you feel more like a fly staring down the spider in their web.unknown to opal, there is a price to using the feral soul. it is a condition called psychonekrosis, where the soul begins to detach from the body, resulting in headaches, fatigue, pain, and eventual death. there is no known cure. opal has begun to exhibit the symptoms, but they can't stop fighting. they don't know what the president will do to them, or their parents, or anyone else they care for, but they don't want to find out.so they'll fight, even if it kills them. until it kills them.
